Introducing Timberworks
Following a tender process from July - September 2024, we received three bids from potential construction partners. Each organisation presented their bids to us, and provided lots of documentation about how they would build the hall. After scoring the bids, we awarded the contract in partnership with Burton Dassett Parish Council. As promised in Issue 7, here’s a little bit more about Timberworks, our chosen build partner…
Timberworks Europe Ltd was established in May 2009 by directors Tom Marriott and Justin Bentley. Both remain actively involved in all day-to-day company operations, with Justin managing our build personally.
Timberworks Europe have an exclusive distribution agreement with Timbeco based in Estonia, recognising the significant quality, safety, environmental, speed and cost reduction potential that off-site manufacture brings. Timbeco is the leading manufacturer of timber buildings in Estonia, is strongly committed to sustainable building practices, and has delivered over 2,800 buildings in 26 countries in the past 20 years. Their unique construction system means watertight buildings can be assembled within a week!
Justin is working closely with our architect, Paul Hurley (Aegis Architects) and has brought on board other professionals with specialist experience in the Timberworks system where necessary.
As part of their work to plan the foundations of the hall, there will be some activity on the site next week with further ground investigations taking place.
